Oriental and area rugs differ greatly in their construction, fibers and dyes. At Ayoub Carpet Service, we understand these differences. That is the reason we use the most advanced cleaning procedures available to suit each individual rug at our own rug cleaning plant in Chantilly. Combining traditional hands-on cleaning and repair processes with the latest technology provides the most comprehensive way of caring for your investment in fine furnishings.

Persian and other Oriental and area rugs are generally hand or machine woven on cotton, silk or wool foundations. The pile is usually comprised of wool, or sometimes silk, dyed with vegetable or synthetic dyes. A true expert, like an Ayoub Carpet Service IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) certified rug cleaning technician recognizes the minor variations in rugs which indicate a requirement for different cleaning treatments. This helps avoid unnecessary problems sometimes associated with cleaning.

Mothproofing
Has your rug has been rolled up or stored away for an extended period of time? You should consider having your rug cleaned and mothproofed. A dirty rug can attract wool-eating insects.

The Ayoub Hand–Wash Rug Cleaning Procedure:

    1. Thoroughly inspect each carpet prior to cleaning.
    2. Dust rugs while dry to remove loose soils and dust.
    3. Pre-spot for any oil or grease stains.
    4. Immerse rugs in cold water to loosen and suspend soils trapped deep within the rugs.
    5. Hand shampoo with Wools of New Zealand approved cleaning detergents.
    6. Hand scrub soiled fringes.
    7. Completely rinse all soils and detergents out of rugs with clean, cold water.
    8. Remove rinse water with high volume water extractor.
    9. Apply conditioning agents as needed, groom nap and dry in Climate controlled drying room.
    10. Final inspection of rugs for maximum results.

The area of Alexandria, Virginia was first settled in 1695 and the Virginia legislature established the town on the land of Phillip Alexander (for whom it is named) in 1748. Alexandria is an independent towns, in other words, it is not a part of any Virginia county.
