Oriental and area rugs differ greatly in their construction, fibers and dye lots. At Ayoub Carpet Service, we understand these differences, that is the reason we use the most advanced in-plant cleaning process available to suit each individual rug. Combining our traditional hands-on cleaning and repair processes with the latest technology provides the most comprehensive way of caring for your investment in fine furnishings.

Most Oriental rugs are hand or machine woven on cotton, silk or wool foundations. The pile is usually comprised of wool, dyed with vegetable or synthetic dyes. A true expert, like an Ayoub Carpet Service IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) certified rug cleaning technician is trained to recognize the complexities of rugs, which helps avoid unnecessary problems associated with cleaning.

Mothproofing
If your rug has been rolled up or stored away for an extended period of time we recommend that your rug be cleaned and mothproofed. A dirty rug can attract wool-eating insects.

The Ayoub Hand-Washed Rug Cleaning Procedure:

    1. Inspect areas of each carpet prior to cleaning.
    2. Dust rugs to remove dry soils.
    3. Pre-spot for any oil or grease stains.
    4. Immerse rugs in cold water to loosen and suspend soils deep within the rugs.
    5. Hand shampoo with cleaning detergents approved by the Wools of New Zealand.
    6. Hand scrub soiled fringes.
    7. Thoroughly rinse all soils and detergents out of rugs with cold water.
    8. Remove water with high volume water extractor.
    9. Apply conditioning agents as needed, groom nap and dry in Climate controlled drying room.
    10. Final inspection of rugs for maximum results.

As of the 2000 census, Arlington County, Virginia had a population of approximately 189,500 which was now estimated to stand at 206,800 as of 2008. At 26 square miles, Arlington is the smallest self-governed county in the United States. Historically, much of Arlington was part the Falls Church Glebe, or parish property, for which Glebe Road is named. Arlington is home to Arlington National Cemetery, the Pentagon, and Washington National Airport. Arlington was the original location of Ayoub Carpet Service when it was founded in 1952.
