Oriental and area rugs vary greatly, and not only in appearance and style. They are made with differing methods of manufacture, different fibers and variable dye lots. At Ayoub Carpet Service, we understand how significant these differences actually are. We utilize only the most advanced rug cleaning processes available, the ones suited to a given rug. The combination of traditional hands–on cleaning and repair processes with the latest technology in our in–house rug cleaning plant in nearby Chantilly provides the best way of caring for your investment in fine Oriental carpets and floor coverings.

Most Oriental rugs are hand made or machine woven, with cotton, silk or wool foundations. The pile is usually wool or silk, dyed with vegetable or synthetic dyes. Ayoub Carpet Service Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification® certified rug cleaning technicians recognize the complexities of rugs and use the correct techniques for problem free rug cleaning.

Has your rug has been rolled up or stored away for an extended period of time? You may want to consider having your rug cleaned and mothproofed. A dirty rug can attract wool-eating insects.

The Ayoub 10 Step Hand–Wash Rug Cleaning Process:

    1. Inspect and assess each carpet thoroughly prior to cleaning.
    2. Dust rugs to remove dry soils.
    3. Pre-treat all oil, grease and other kinds of stains.
    4. Immerse rugs in cold water to loosen and suspend soils deep within the rugs.
    5. Hand shampoo with cleaning detergents approved by the Wools of New Zealand.
    6. Scrub soiled fringes manually.
    7. Rinse soils and detergents out of rugs with cold water.
    8. Vacuum out rinse water with high volume water extractor.
    9. Apply conditioning agents as needed, groom nap and dry in our climate controlled rug drying room.
    10. Complete the final inspection of rugs for maximum results.

Ashburn, Virginia is an unincorporated Loudoun County community to the west of Dulles Airport on both sides of the Greenway toll road. As of 2006, Ashburn had a population of 73,000 and was at the heart of one of the fastest growing areas in the country. While the area includes many new subdivisions, it is also a historic location. Presidents and legislators vacationed in Ashburn - it was easy to reach on the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad, during the hot summer months, its higher elevation and meandering streams made it an ideal getaway. It was named for Ashburn Farm, part of George Lee's Farmwell Plantation, established in 1802. Today, Ashburn, VA has a reputation as a high tech center, with many technology firms choosing it as convenient both the the Washington metropolitan area and the Dulles airport.
