Persian, Chinese and other Oriental rugs differ greatly in their construction techniques, fibers composision and dye lots. At Ayoub Carpet Service, we understand these subtle differences and therefore use only the most advanced cleaning processes available to suit each individual rug. This combination, using traditional hands-on cleaning and repair techniques with the most up–to–date technology in our in-house rug cleaning plant offers our clients the most comprehensive method of protecting their investment in fine rugs and carpets.

Most Oriental rugs are hand or machine woven, based on cotton, silk or wool foundations. The pile is usually wool, dyed with vegetable or synthetic dyes. Ayoub Carpet Service IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) certified rug cleaning technicians understand and recognize the complex variations in rugs and use the correct techniques for problem free rug cleaning.

Has your rug has been rolled up or stored away for an extended length of time? Perhaps you should consider having your rug cleaned and mothproofed. A dirty rug can attract wool-eating insects.

Ayoub Carpet Service Hand-Wash Ten Step Rug Cleaning Process:

    1. Before cleaning, thoroughly inspect each carpet.
    2. Dust rugs to remove dry soils.
    3. Pre-spot any oil, grease, or other stains.
    4. Immerse rugs in cold water to loosen and suspend soils trapped deep within the rug's pile.
    5. Shampoo by hand with “Wools of New Zealand” approved cleaning detergents.
    6. Hand scrub soiled fringes.
    7. Completely rinse all soils and detergents out of rugs with cold water.
    8. Remove water with high volume vacuum extractor.
    9. Apply any conditioning agents needed or requested, groom nap and dry in our climate controlled rug drying room.
    10. Complete the final inspection of rugs for maximum results.

Lying generally on both sides of Connecticut Avenue, Chevy Chase, MD is home to the National 4-H Center. Chevy Chase is a name applied both to an incorporated town and to a larger area on both sides of the DC/Maryland line of sturdy detached brick homes. Chevy Chase is adjacent to the Friendship Heights shopping area.
